צמח דוד

In Shemoneh Esrei in the ברכה of צמח דוד- offspring of Dovid HaMelech-where we primarily daven for HaShem to bring Mashiach and restore the Davidic dynasty we say “ כי לישועתך קוינו כל היום-for we hope for Your salvation all day.”  However, the commentaries reveal for us an additional powerful kavanah (intention) we can tap into while saying these words. The עולת תמיד shares that “One should also have kavanah that he is hoping and yearning for HaShem’s salvation that he should be healed (if sick), remain healthy, have parnassah, shalom, etc… for he and/or anyone else that he wishes to pray for.” The שערי תשובה further shares from the מהר”י צמח, “I have used this עצה (advice) many times successfully in times of need”.  The focus of our thoughts should be that we seek HaShem’s salvation b/c it “pains” Him to see His children in distress.
